If the translator is concerned about liability then they could read a
disclaimer to the person or perhaps the first thing a caller gets is a
message that say's something like "we assume no responsibility if you agree
press one to continue".
It would be great to have both the caller and the emergency service on the
phone at once so the caller says something, the translator repeats it,
the emergency service says something, the translator repeats it. Perhaps
three way calling?
I think its mostly North of the border liability paranoia but I know
the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" is one I whole heartedly agree
with. Perhaps get some insurance? Do the La Manzanilla ambulance
people have any insurance to cover liability?
