I don't think the love triangle in The Red Shoes is particularly interesting, but I don't think that's a huge flaw - the characters serve perfectly well as archetypes. And I think Anton Walbrook is great as the impresario. But yeah, I suppose the rest of the movie after the ballet sequence is a bit of a letdown, or at least I can't remember it that well. I want to rewatch this now.
The only song I remember on The Suburbs is "Mountains Beyond Mountains" which I like. The rest, not so much. Likewise, I only remember "Big Sur" from Holland.
Can't argue with you on the Kinks album although I like it more than you. "Get Back in Line" and "A Long Way From Home" are great, albeit a bit repetitive, and I love "Top of the Pops" for whatever reason.
