...that Arcade Fire was #1 on the charts right? Their commercial peak? 2010 was 10 years ago, feels 10 minutes ago whereas in 2001, 1991 (Nirvana vs Pearl Jam) seemed eons ago. I guess I was a kid then but I've grown so out of touch with new music and so fixated on classic rock eras that if you asked me to summarize "what was music like in 2010?" to some kid I probably couldn't even do it! I'd have an easier time talking about music was like in 1980 and I wasn't even alive then! Of course there's other factors to consider like the dying recording industry and diffusion of pop music into many separated scenes and "rock" not being a real force anymore but man do I feel old.
For some reason I tried to Google Britney Spears. Don't ask me why. A related search result came up: "britney spears young.". YOUNG. TWENTY YEARS OF S***NEY QUEERS. We are THAT OLD.
