I thought the main point was to include real PRs
since the white folks in brown make-up approach of the original predictably has been ruffling feathers in these overly sensitive times. As the board's resident PR (albeit a light skinned one who doesn't speak Spanish), I have to say that I have an affection for the original film and have never been bothered by the "racism". Yeah, maybe if I was brown I'd feel differently but I feel like this is one of those cases of white folks feeling guilty rather than the latino community clamoring for the "mistakes" of the past to be corrected.
At any rate, it's not the type of project I want from Spielberg. I mean, he's still able to make good films (though I haven't seen anything released after 2012's "Lincoln") so it has promise but his efforts are probably best used elsewhere. Guess he deserves credit for tying something new at this late stage of his career- but at the end of the day, it's still yet another goiddamn remake, classic musical or not
