Again, my speaking voice is generally quite a bit lower than my singing voice but I've also noticed that I have a "less consistent" speaking voice than most people- when I get excited and/or am being goofy my voice is much higher. In other words, my speaking voice already has a fairly wide natural "range" so it's maybe not as hard for me to make that type off leap when it comes to singing. Not claiming to be a great singer with a wide range- still have to practice quite a bit. That's the main thing people don't realize about singing- in terms of the amount of practice it takes for most folks to get good, it's pretty much exactly like playing an instrument. So we're talking an hour a night of practice *minimum*.
