As in Vietnam it's just food
That's why in Western country it's just music theory instead of "Western Music Theory". It doesn't pretend to represent the world.
To equate that people don't put the disclaimer with white supremacy/racism is ridiculous.
I understand that in a more globalised world we should learn more about different cultural perspective in music.
However there is nothing wrong with people focusing and celebrating their own cultural traditions.
Regarding the criticism of Ben Shapiro
I also say it is part of cultural zeitgeist where when there are many different ways to do things and we have to treat all those different ways to do things as "equal"
My views is that there are many different ways to skin a cat. It's up to individauls to pick or create a side that appeals to them personaly.
If Ben doesn't want to consider Hip hop real music because it focus on rhyhtm and african people saying Bach isn't real music because you can't dance to it.
Well both are equally right because both are correct within their own individualised framwork of music and what music appeals to them personally.
I do not consider every musical style to be equal. However I consider every individaul person taste to be equal.
I will not adopt the values that Western Music is equal to other styles of music because Western music defines my experience.
However I will not begrudge other people with different framework argue for their own version to what is superior.
Also there is nothing in the video that argues that serial/atonal music has any connection with any musical culture in the world
