To be fair, I'm never going to watch Southland Tales and don't even know what Richard Kelly has done this last decade. Some people seem to swear by ST but I don't know 'em well.
I *did* see Domino (the De Palma flop, not the stupid MTV-ish thriller from 2005 written by, you guessed it, Richard Kelly) and it was completely worthless, COMPLETELY. It's barely 80 minutes long and looks like poor old De Palma could barely wait to get it finished, a worthlessly slapped-together Middle Eastern terrorist hunt thriller starring a couple GOT actors. De Palma has two other zero-star films (Mission To Mars and The Bonfire Of The Vanities) but even those seemed far better motivated than the direct to video flop Domino.
Go watch Carrie, it's great enough to be poorly remade twice by people who weren't as talented as Brian De Palma. It's his best movie, I swear!
Make up your own mind on whether or not to see Scarface; the Pacino performance is fun to impersonate, but it's a miserably overlong movie with a painfully basic plot.
