That musically useless tambourine playing Monkey Boy works at my local record store
Amoeba Records in SF. Or at least he used to for many years. Looked exactly the same and was one of the main buyers so I interacted with him quite a bit during my drinking days when I regularly sold my music for booze money (only to rebuy the albums I'd sold shortly afterwards- vicious cycle blah blah blah). He always seemed nice enough and I didn't know about his BJM connection until my roommates mentioned it, having recently rented that "Dig!" doc.
Re: "Dig!", I pretty much agree with all your comments. I like a few BJM albums okay but they're pretty derivative and not the type of thing I really feel like listening to these days (FWIW the debut is my favorite). Doesn't help that all of their albums are way too long.
