LOL are you watching porn while listening to "Agharta"? Anyway, I was similarly unimpressed at first but it's a grower even if I still think it's overrated by Davis freaks and have always preferred the less popular sister album "Pangaea" but "Dark Magus" is the best live album from that period IMO.
TBH I don't really remember "Hubtones". Not bad, just forgettable. Can say the same for many of Hubbard's albums. IMO he's the ultimate case of what you were saying re: Tyner re: a jazz musicians who's more impressive on other folks' albums than their own (which I disagree with you on re: both Tyner and Henderson, 2 of my favorites- have you heard Henderson's 70's albums? They rule!)
