Yeah everybody mentions how the title track is by far the best thing on "Street Hassle" and that nothing else on the album sounds like it and I don't disagree. It's a frustrating album- almost up to Lou's solo album standards (which were never that high in the first place) but it just sounds so tossed off and ugly and this is from someone who thinks "Sally Can't Dance" is fun and underrated.
I hadn't heard any 90's Crimson before but was somewhat disappointed in "Thrak". It has its moments but is pretty by numbers for the most part. And there's a couple of tracks that are really embarrassing.
I got turned onto Morphine by a singer/songwriter chick I used to date at the beginning of the pandemic (FWIW we're still friends and enjoy sharing our songs with one another and geeking out on music in general) and like her, I think the underrated late period album "Like Swimming" is their best but they're pretty consistent so if you dig their style (and yeah, the sax totally makes it), all their stuff seems too be worth a listen.
