Peterson is frustrating because his albums often don't do justice to his talent- technically speaking, he was one of the greatest jazz pianists ever but you wouldn't be able to tell from a bland set like that one. Best thing I've heard lately is this cutty funk slab from 74 which features Eddie Hazel, Bernie Worrell and other Funkadelic members and includes 2 Sly Stone covers. Highly recommended to all funk fans:
