As far as album sales nothing touches dookie, which had Basket Case, When I Come Around, Longview, Welcome to Paradise, and She on it. That one went Diamond in the US, so that's 16 million copies.
Nimrod, the album with Good Riddance, sold 2 million in the US. American Idiot sold 6 million.
I loved dookie when I was first getting into music and still have nostalgic affection for it. Those songs are still iconic to me even if I don't think they're great music. I don't like the later hits and didn't listen to those albums. But I think that there are alot of people who will know Good Riddance who didn't know those other hits (i.e. people who were adults when all the songs came out, or who were born before any of them came out).
