Yeah it was Palindromes. I just remember some demented characters and weird shit going on in a rural town. But that sounds about right. I don't remember much but getting that weird Gummo vibe from it. Def don't remember anything about Life During Wartime either. I saw that shortly after it came out too and don't remember it at all except just some awkward uninteresting dialogue..

And yeah his first film is hard to find. Don't even think its available on DVD or anything. I had to torrent it years ago to see it and I burned it on a blank DVD (which I probably lost years ago as well). It is interesting from what I remember because Todd plays the main character and its more like a movie like "Election" or something more than the ####ed up dark humor of his 90s films. Some quirky comedy with a school setting with a really awkward main character. Stanley Tucci was also in it, as well as maybe 1 or 2 other well known actors.
