Music Babble

I recently watched "The Long Kiss Goodnight" with my ladyfriend and had a great time. Hadn't seen it since it came out but it seems like it's recently been reassessed as one of the most entertaining bad movies ever, almost attaining a cult following (maybe also helps that it's technically a Xmas movie) and you can add me to that choir. Inherently ridiculous plot but nobody seemed to notice this when it was essentially recycled in those Jason Bourne movies, some of the most OTT action sequences you'll ever see and chock full of silly dialogue and hammy acting.

And FWIW it's apparently Samuel L. Jackson's favorite of his own performances (he's definitely the best thing about it, or at least the best performance- the acting is generally pretty awful)- sure, that opinion should be taken with a grain of salt but he has made a *lot* of movies so it does say something. Watch it blunted, brahskis (full disclosure: I was actually sober- trying to chill off the THC lately)

Aliens vs Predator - Requiem
Didn't bother seeing the first AVP movie but it's supposed to be awful and this doesn't seem like the type of film series where seeing the installments in order really matters anyway. Yes, it's dumb but it arguably has its entertaining moments (my 2 favorites involve a pregnant woman and a child's bedroom window).

The Quick and the Dead
Raimi aims his early cartoony sensibility at the old west and the results are predictably silly yet entertaining (for the most part). The film mainly suffers because Stone (who's always awful and is particularly out of her element here) is in the lead role but fortunately, the supporting cast (mainly Hackman and DiCaprio) at least partly make up for this.
