Oh yeah I read about Mad Dog Morgan after writing my post. I've been curious about other notable Dennis Hopper films he either acted in or directed. Mad Dog does seem like an infamous one.

Ever see "The American Dreamer"? Its supposedly a documentary with behind the scenes footage of Hopper filming The Last Movie. It sounds like fascinating fly-on-the-wall stuff

Pretty crazy how Dennis Hopper started out acting in those famous films James Dean starred in (Giant and Rebel W/O A Cause)
