The only "new" music I liked in 1998 was Beck's "Mutations" and the recent Overkill album (which was severely un-cool).
I'm sure I would have hated the "Now!" CDs of the time. That is when I started to listen to a lot of underground 1980's rock. I was all about ('80's) R.E.M., XTC, Midnight Oil, Robyn Hitchcock, Crowded House, and the Beatles and CCR (oh, wait, they weren't around in the "80s.)
