Re: 1 book, 7 movies, 7 albums
Basically agreed on both Walker and The Asphalt Jungle. I've seen a couple other of Cox's more obscure features - Straight to Hell is filled with musicians (I think because a tour got cancelled), nearly plotless and fairly inane but I had a good time watching it. Death and the Compass is an adaptation of a Borges story starring Peter Boyle, which sold me on watching it but I can't say I remember much about it beyond very odd costuming.
I don't know Candy-O too well, but "Let's Go" is my favorite Cars single, and "Dangerous Type" is great. I've heard the first album's singles so much that they fit in my brain as "generic classic pop-rock" even if they're clearly very good songs.
