Yeah that does it for me I think. I remember what a bittersweet album this was in late '94 when it came out And Kurt has tons and tons of emotion coming out of his voice despite not hitting notes and struggling to hit out of his range a lot the whole performance. As a one-off thing, its amazingly beautiful, and because of the circumstances afterwards, incredibly depressing and sad. Not sure how this kind of style would have carried over in the future if Kurt had not died though.
Decided to spin that Foo Fighters debut again just now and there are some great songs on there. Has always held up big for me and is probably one of my faves of the 90s in general.
Yeah Pod has an interesting atmosphere, and the songs are still catchy, but Last Splash is better. I'm glad they still release albums every once in awhile and they all seem good for the most part. Great band.
