Since there are so many Star Trek episodes already names with quotes from Shakespeare plays (at least up through Voyager every series has at least one), the other day I started distracting myself while doing chores/busy work by coming up with quotes that I thought would make good episode titles. Here are three ideas for each of the first 5 series. At least 2/3 of these are probably plausible enough.
Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows (The Tempest) – In this budget saving episode, using only one set and two actors, Spock and McCoy are stranded in a crashed shuttle on an uninhabited planet.
A Great Eater of Beef (Twelfth Night) – A disease that turns the rest of the crew into vegetarians gives Spock an insatiable appetite for all varieties of meat.
Honorificabilitudinitatibus (Love's Labour's Lost) – When the crew is assigned to escort a Federation citizen engaged to be married to a Klingon noblewoman, their hopes that this might user in a new era of peace are turned inside out when they find out that it is none other than Harry Mudd.
The Animated Series
King of Cats (Romeo and Juliet) – M’Ress’ estranged father visits The Enterprise.
Howl, howl, howl, howl! (King Lear) – After returning from shore leave on the planet Lupine 7, Scotty begins to transform into a wolf.
She is spherical, like a globe (A Comedy of Errors) – Uhura gets turned into a planet.
Who Is Silvia? (Two Gentleman of Verona) - Wesley Crusher is confused to find that he now has a twin sister, Silvia Crusher, who the rest of the crew remembers having been there all along.
The very coinage of her brain (Hamlet) – After being exposed to anti-particles, Troi starts transmitting her emotions into other crew members.
Villain, I have done thy mother (Titus Andronicus) – In this season-break cliff hanger, escaping from a temporal anomaly is only the beginning of Riker’s problems as The Federation is menaced by an alliance between Sela and Riker’s evil half-Romulan son.
A Wilderness of Monkeys (The Merchant of Venice) – Garrik accompanies Nog on a secret mission to Ferenginar.
Honor is a mere scutcheon (Henry IV pt. 1) – Garrik accompanies Worf and General Martok on a mission aboard The Rotarran.
The pancakes were naught and the mustard was good (As You Like It) – When DS9 is visited by a delegation of potential Gamma Quadrant allies for whom diplomacy is conducted through food, the security of the Alpha Quadrant may rest on the culinary skills of Sisko, O’Brien and Bashir.
Bring forth that sorceress condemn'd to burn (Henry VI pt. 1) – When Seven of Nine is accused of witchcraft on a primitive planet, Janeway must choose between here crew member and the Prime Directive.
To see a dead Indian (The Tempest) – Some more bullshit about Chakotay having visions of his dad.
Pursued by a bear (The Winter's Tale) – The holodeck is once again proven to be unsafe.
