Gilead and its ways are referenced as mysterious and unknown, but - at times, when the plot suits - the people in Canada are capable of having "intel" on subjects as detailed as particular people's whereabouts. I mean this is "Fear the Walking Dead" level of ridiculous.
The whole relationship between Gilead and Canada is muddled and makes little sense, frankly. And what, exactly, Giliead is, isn't fleshed out all that well, either. Virtually everyone of importance to the nation resides in the Boston area... but it's a pretty big country.
The amount of post-season-1 coincidences is Walking Dead level of annoying as well.
It's weird that the show has these weaknesses, though, since the scripts are really good, the acting is really good and the production values are really good.
BTW, you seen that Captain Beefheart documentary on Amazon prime? I thought it was pretty good. No, it's not new, but I hadn't heard of it until recently.
