June getting away with anything and everything would be the excuse for how she could have killed Fred herself, in some way, while he was a prisoner. But that finale wasn't even about June getting away with it. It was about all of the other implausible things that had to happen to get to that final scene, which was so stupid. Like the about-face by the Canadians (granted, the fact that there appears to be a single person in the entire Canadian government charged with the multiple duties of jailer, lawyer and international negotiator, might result in that person getting so tired that lapses of judgment could ensue); the unknowable reason why that other Commander in Gilead can play his part in the scheme with Eyes everywhere and get away with it, why he'd *want* to take that risk, for little in return, the... (oh God I have to stop now).
