(Incidentally, I've been enjoying her recent album. Not amazing but pretty solid - definitely a step up from her Funstyle and Somebody's Miracle, and maybe on par with the preceding couple albums.)
Yeah, most (maybe all) of those 80s Kinks albums are pretty poorly produced. A pity. Your parenthetical about "Massive Reductions" seems a little silly, since Davies had been writing lyrics about working-class people since the '60s. It's also funny since the next album has a track called "Working at the Factory". I can't remember it, nor anything else about Think Visual.
