I haven't seen Hurricane Neddy in like 20 years or so, so I don't know how I'd feel about it now but when I was constantly binging Simpsons episodes, I thought it was one that was different and interesting for an episode. Same with "Homer's Enemy" another controversial one. I guess I could buy that Ned had these real issues and it was interesting to see him snap all the sudden and his real true self comes out, but then again you could also say its hard to see Ned the same way again afterwards. His character got more caricatured and that could hurt the way you see him. For some reason it never occurred to me but then again I wasn't surprised this seemingly "wholesome" person could have some bad underlying issues that are suppressed for a long time.
