"Something In The Night," "Promised Land" and "Racing In The Street" are the classics on DOTEOT, and I'd say the title track and "Badlands" aren't too far behind.
A couple criticisms, though, prevent me from liking it as much as his previous two.
One, "Adam Raised A Cain" is butt ugly hard rock crap and I nearly peed blood when I read it was George's favorite Springsteen song (you may not remember this, but back in the old days Springsteen was George's favorite whipping boy aside from Kansas or Uriah Heep and virtually everyone here agreed with him)
Two, "Cain" aside, nearly EVERY song on here seems based around either I-IV or I-vi chord progressions, and those were already chord progressions Springsteen used a LOT on his first three albums! No review I ever read commented on this!
I'm not interested in hearing a six disc box set or whatever it is based on DOTEOT....but I have heard The River and never liked it much. All those songs just seem....second rate! Iffy 70s Springsteen rockers like he'd already done on DOTEOT, and crappy cornball retro-rockers like he'd do on Born In The USA.
