Your question roused an attempt at an answer from writer Stephen Hyden in his book Twilight Of The Gods: A Journey To The End Of Classic Rock, which I do recommend, but God knows what the answer was. I mean with regards to classic rockers mostly not having 10 years left to live or are recording.
