Haven't listened to this for a while, it's got some nice tunes, some boring stuff, I think it would be more impressive if it had the kind of production that you get on "White Room" for example. Really loses me towards the end.
Guided by Voices-Bee Thousand
Never been a huge GBV fan, I can only remember how maybe half of the songs go but I generally like those songs.
have barely listened to this but I thought it was boring, I really liked their debut and thought Lonerism was alright but I stopped paying attention after this one.
ABC-The Lexicon of Love
Thought I'd like this more than I did on first listen but I should go back to it.
R.E.M.-Automatic for the People
Real nice album! Some of the production is gorgeous, don't understand why "Ignoreland" sounds so shitty. Feels a little self-consciously 'adult' but it totally works if you're in the mood for it.
The Flying Burrito Brothers-The Gilded Palace of Sin
Real nice album! Not much to say about it, probably the strongest Parsons-related record, I imagine having Hillman involved kept the quality up.
Alice Coltrane-Journey in Satchidananda
Have only listened once or twice but it was really cool.
Minutemen-Double Nickels on the Dime
I don't totally vibe with the Minutemen's usual thing but I admire them and "History Lesson Part 2" is tremendously moving.
