Among other strange places he popped up included The Right Stuff, The Proposition and the Dennis Hopper film Mad Dog Morgan. There's a hilarious clip in there of him holding a spear to some rich white guy's throat on some old Australian exploitation show called Boney.
For all his acting credits and travelling the world doing his dancing, he never had a hell of a lot of money. He appeared in Crocodile Dundee but called it "bulls***." Portions of the documentary show just how damn poor his tribe was, with people getting diabetic off of bad food and living in horrible tin shacks and crap, and of course climate change is wreaking havoc on that area of Australia anyway. Sometime not that long ago he got arrested for pulling a knife on somebody.
Although you won't be able to look the scene up on Youtube because it has kid nudity in it, the final scene of Walkabout, with the poetry reading and the sad John Barry music playing while Agutter envisions being with Gulpilil again, is a genuine throat-clutcher.
