Yeah, I got the sense sometimes that I was being the bad guy, but after almost a year, after trying to capitulate a little, to fight back, to go to management (twice), to passive-aggressively light a cigarette whenever she acted up, none of it working... well, the line between sociopathic behavior and just trying to get on with life can be a bit blurry. At any rate it only took a few weeks and, as I said, it only took three or four incidents.
BUT! I'm done talking about this. I'm planning on taking classes (remote learning is revolutionizing higher education) this fall with the hope of picking up my Associate's. Don't really want a Bachelor's and can't afford it anyway. That's be a much better direction for my energy, and I have no time limits -- could take five years for all I care; price at my community college is per-credit-hour, not per year. Of course I hope to be in new digs by then. Actually reading through Epictetus now with a (now-retired) old professor of mine (at his suggestion when discussing the feud).
