Turnstile - Glow On. I like this a lot - they're nominally a hardcore band I guess, but this sometimes feels a little more pop punk, sometimes a little synthpop, sometimes other things - really all over the place but with a lot of hooks and an energy that keeps it coherent.
Arooj Aftab - Vulture Prince. A nice mellowish sort of thing. I picked it up from a Quietus article, but later discovered that it was apparently on Barack Obama's list of favorite music from 2021, and I've never felt more unhip.
Steeleye Span - Hark! The Village Wait. I don't listen to this band enough.
Gene Clark - Roadmaster. I always forget his solo career exists - I ought to dig through it deeper.
Lambchop - How I Quit Smoking. Nice.
AG Cook - Apple. Frequent Charli XCX collaborator, this is good avant pop in its own right.
Kylie Minogue - Disco. It's not as dull as Kiss Me Once, two albums prior, but that's about all the nice things I can say about it. An album with this title really should be more fun and/or better produced.
A Sunny Day In Glasgow - Sea When Absent. Great shoegaze.
I'm sure I've listened to other things since last we spoke but I'm blanking on any of it.
