Neither is particularly great (both good but overrated as hell). Somethin' Else smokes both of them. Somethin' Else smokes a lot of jazz albums TBH.
The Emperor is notable mainly for incorporating keyboards/synths, but the songs aren't that great. Terrific album cover, though -- arguably the coolest part of a lot of black metal is the covers.
Am I that lame that I've only heard those two (three)? I need to hear the Talk Talk, Mayfield, and Tom Waits. I've never really liked Simon and Garfunkel. There are the few songs you've heard too much of and then wishy-washy folk stuff. The Gorillaz is supposed to be good, right? I doubt I'd like the Roots. Even when I was in college they had the reputation of frat-boy hip-hop. Or am I thinking of someone else?
