I sometimes wonder if 9/11 had a single-shot effect like the late 60s did, so that American Graffiti, filmed in 1972 and set in 1962, seemed like it was taking place a really really long time ago because the late 60s had happened between 1962 and 1972, and 9/11 meanwhile made the early 90s stuff seem like a really long time ago. I've never cared for Pavement's live Brixton concert but S&E:L&R had some great-ass liner notes. And it was being released just when S&E itself was being inducted into the canon and appearing in top 10 90s lists everywhere.
