Rubber Soul (favorite album of the best band has to go on top, but I enjoyed Beggars Banquet -- at least -- better.)
Beggars Banquet (best album of a five-star band.)
Astral Weeks (took forever to get into but wow! what an experience.)
VU & Nico (thought I'd rank this a lot higher but when it came time to consider it it ends terribly and there are some misfires, such as, often, bloated running times. A sentimental favorite, at least. I think one album with Nico was enough: I can imagine a soundalike follow-up instead of White Light/White Heat.)
Pet Sounds (I appreciate this more than I like it. That said, I appreciate the hell out of it.)
Doolittle (I love this album except for "Tame", a shit song if there ever was one, but I can't honestly put this above VU & Nico, even if I enjoy it more.)
Are You Experienced? (not a big Hendrix fan but there are some bangers here.)
Paranoid (overrated, but would be tops many other weeks)
Enter the Wu-Tang (probably my favorite hip-hop album but that's probably because I have limited appreciation for the genre, but it's also its own world like the top ones this week. It's not overlong, either, as rap albums tended to be (or at least that I've noticed) in the '90s)
