Charles Mingus-The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady (prefer "Ah Um" but this is probably objectively his best or at least his most impressive from a compositional standpoint)
The Rolling Stones-Beggars Banquet (my favorite Stones album, yeah the 3 albums that followed are great too but I love the sense of discovery and stripped down arrangements)
The Beatles-Rubber Soul (not as great or as groundbreaking as fans often claim- definitely some filler tracks here and it also mostly seems like a continuation of "Help" especially compared to the innovations on "Revolver"- but it's still the beginning of the group's peak)
The Velvet Underground-The Velvet Underground & Nico (their best studio album- have to qualify it that way because these days I kinda feel like the Matrix shows are the best stuff they ever did- Nico kinda sucks but it's one of the most groundbreaking/influential albums ever blah blah blah you've heard it all before)
Beach Boys-Pet Sounds (don't love the arrangements or all the material but still a classic album and at its absolute best it's about as good as pop music gets)
The Wu-Tang Clan-Enter the Wu-Tang (grown on me a bit but never loved it the way most hip hop heads do- in general the only Wu related stuff I care about are ODB's solo albums)
Pixies-Doolittle (their best album but I've never been much of a fan- they paved the way for much better bands)
Black Sabbath-Paranoid (Iommi's guitar playing is somewhat enjoyable but Ozzy sucks and even the hits are pretty lame but metal isn't my thing so don't listen to me)
Van Morrison-Astral Weeks (know it's considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time but I don't really understand the appeal- Van's voice sucks and the music mostly consists of dull vamps spruced up by ornate instrumentation)
