Crosby, Stills & Nash-Crosby, Stills & Nash (kinda surprising that the best moments here are Crosby's even if The Airplane did "Wooden Ships" better, about the equal of "Deja Vu" even though that one gets all the love)
Slowdive-Souvlaki (only heard this for the first time recently after a friend had recommended them heartily and even tried to get me to see them live, prettier and trippier than I was expecting)
Kamasi Washington-The Epic (saw Kamasi when he opened for Herbie Hancock a few years ago so I listen to this beforehand since I was unfamiliar with his music, basically seems self-consciously overlong- hence the title- and as I mentioned recently I'm generally not a huge spiritual jazz fan but it's pretty good for what it is and breaks up the repetition with soulful vocals and funky keyboards)
Outkast-Stankonia (not as good as what came before it and and starts strong but runs outta steam pretty quickly but notable that I'm generally not much of a fan of these guys)
The Fall-Hex Enduction Hour (also not generally a fan of these guys but never understood why this was considered one of their best- material is mostly unmemorable and the muddy sound doesn't help either- definitely a disappointment coming after "Grotesque After The Gramme" which absolutely *is* one of their best albums)
Richard and Linda Thompson-I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight (enjoyed seeing Richard live with my pops a few years ago but never been a huge fan of his solo stuff with or without Linda, his guitar playing is always great but the songwriting generally leaves me cold)
