There was something to the basic plot - mystic order takes in protege who becomes their downfall - except it falls apart in every way that counts. First and foremost, I don't believe Darth Vader was ever this whiny-ass punk. That's why I actually like TPM.
Solo is ok if completely pointless. It had a really good bad guy wasted on 10 minutes of screen time, anyway.
