I think Weasels plays like the crappy outtakes from that. Reviews are all over the place (Prindle loved it, most others are pretty wavy-hand) so I don't feel "wrong" by bashing it.
Believe it or not, I consider the best, AND the definitive YLT album to be 2003's Summer Sun, IIRC Pitchfork didn't even like that one but I say it's a friggin' rainbow of dreampop substyles. Heart Beating As One is still very good though.
Something I didn't mention: the Barrett album is from 1970 and Rick Wright's gentle mellow organ tones throughout remind me of...the same organ tones being used on CCR's Pendulum from the same year! Anyone else hearing it?
Did you know Gilmour is the one playing drums on "Dominoes"? Not very well, mind you...
Getting a handle on these ADII albums is definitely a challenge even after two decades of me listening to art-rock/out-there stuff...those guys worked hard!
