you're right that they're a key part in one of my favorite (or, as you say, potentially my VERY favorite) Brazilian records. they sound good in this setting... I'm digging the Milton Nascimento cover in particular, a fair bit funkier than the original.

I'm happy to dig into Dafe next, too. sounds like my cuppa coffee.


I wish I could throw a Brazilian rec back at you, but you've nearly always got me beat in that dept, I think! I can never top that Paebiru rec...

in terms of Brazil stuff, my latest listening was Arthur Verocai's self-titled (again) and Nascimento's Milagre dos Peixes, which hit me a little harder than it had in the past... I'm a sucker for his vocals.

Also, my latest LP purchase was of Chico Buarque's Construcao, which I'm really pleased with. it's an old LP but plays and sounds great on my stereo.
