But then I would read discussions and see people say things such as "Yeah, I'm gonna miss being able stream 150 Billy Childish albums, but I have to do it!" or "Man, their psychedelic rock selection is awesome, but because of muh politics, I must unsubscribe".
Meanwhile, all I could think was "Man, I didn't know that Spotify was that great. I should try it!"
It's like that Louis CK bit where he sees an ad telling you to not pirate movies on the internet and his reaction is "Wow, I didn't know that you pirate movies on the internet! That's cool! I'm gonna do that right now!"
So I subscribed to Spotify and I love it. I mostly use it on my TV, which is hooked up to my stereo with an optical cable so it's no different (sonically, at least) from playing a CD.
I'm amazed all of the time at how much is on there. If you're a big music geek, you can stump it if you really want, but you have to TRY.
So, yeah, I gladly pay for it at this point. I don't care about the politics. If you don't like what a guy is saying, then promote interesting voices that say something else. You can't truly shut up anyone on the internet anyway, let alone of one of the most popular podcasters in the world.
Do you use Spotify? Did you cancel Spotify?
