Not too long ago, alot of people were jeering at the idea that you should pay anything for music.
Whether or not the current situation is bad, has Spotify actually made it worse, rather than better? I honestly don't know, but for a while it seemed like most people in the demographics that spend the most on music got most of their music completely illegally (and if it wasn't actually most people, it was a huge percentage). Now most people are paying again, but everyone is paying alot less. I don't know how it actually balances out. But if you'd told me in 2005 that this was how it would work in 2022, I'd have thought this was the best case scenario for getting most people to pay for music.
