The apartment rental market is ass right now, BTW. The few complexes that approach affordable have no vacancies, and I've only gotten on some waiting lists. They're not in the best parts of town, but I've been living in more down-at-the-heel places for the last 15 years, during some of which I habitually went out after dark, and have never been a victim of violent crime. Bad parts of Fairfax County are safer than like 75% of everywhere else.
I say this because someone moved into the apartment under my neighbor so she can't be putting up a racket anymore. The ordeal has basically been over for a month or two but this seals it. Finally.
