As I parked my car, Man-Erg (BBC recording) was playing in the car loudly. A work colleague recognise that was a familiar tune. I mentioned that it was by Van Der Graaf Generator. The person recognised that band and then the song with the reminder and then mentioned grew up listening to Van Der Graaf Generator due to her mother being fan of the group
That's probably the most unexpected recognition of an artist by another person. I never would expect meeting another person outside the internet who recognise Van Der Graaf Generator.
I guess the only thing close to this was meeting a colleague who recognise Sparks. However this person was a british migrant a generation before myself and grew up at the time when This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us was a hit and hence made perfect logical sense. This is just absolutely bizarre
Anyone else has a similar experience?
