Yeah the Soon-Yi stuff was pretty creepy but arguably not in the same ballpark at all. Had pretty much accepted it long ago.
TBH I'm not surprised that he's retiring. There was a time that he'd be making films until he dropped dead but even a huge fan like myself hasn't been interested in anything he's done for awhile (last one I saw was "Cafe Society" and it wasn't awful but was still pretty forgettable) and obviously the documentary and allegations haven't helped his popularity (also sounds like his memoir was mostly just his bitterness over the whole thing put on paper).
It's a shame though- just watched "Bullets Over Broadway" with my gf the other day and loved it. Always been one of my favorites but I still forgot how good the cast is. Even the set and costume design is wonderful. Might be harder to watch the films with Woody as an actor but I'm mostly still thankful for his filmography even if he might be a monster.
