That article is just speculation really, though I basically agree with it. The way they filled the last album and the anniversary reissues full of old unreleased tracks fans had been wanting for ages, makes it feel like they're tying up loose ends.
I get the feeling at this point keeping Radiohead fully up and running is too much hassle for them and they'd rather do smaller side projects like The Smile, which sound exactly like Radiohead anyway.
