The Violent Femmes album sounds super interesting. Seems like anything else they did besides their debut is totally forgotten and never talked about but they are a unique band for the time and have a bunch of albums in general.
Only familiar with Millions Now Living Will Never Die as far as Tortoise goes but that's a good one. Never checked out anything else from them yet.
I like Billy Joel's 70s stuff generally. I guess I like his singles stuff the most but there's def a few worthy cuts to check out on most of those late 70s records.
Kind of felt the same way about that Olivia Tremor Control album. Could never get thru all of it and I tend to get bored by the end of it, but I always love the hell out of the first half and feel the same way you do, like wow this is some amazing 60s-esque psych stuff that is incredibly underrated. I keep feeling like it needs more listens to grow on me but let's face it, it is way too overlong for it's own good..that damn CD era is really turning dated these days. Why did everyone need to fill up CDs back then with 15+ tracks each?
