"Krautrock" strikes me as a term that connects some bands that aren't actually all that similar to each other, apart from their geographic/historical context. (Sort of the way it's a little pointless to talk about a "CBGB" sound, when Blondie and Television sound nothing alike.) So Can and Faust seem pretty different to me (at least I've never really gotten into Can apart from Future Days).
I heard about that 5th album when their box set came out last year and considered buying it (but didn't). It looks like that album is on Spotify, titled "Punkt", so I'll check it out sometime.
I think the name of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down has always made me unexcited to check them out, but I should get over that. What's their best album?
