You don't have to bother with post-Holy-Bible Manic Street Preachers
I've heard two of their albums (forgot which ones) and it's basically mainstream modern rock, whatever the content. I like Bible but it's pretty uneven IMO. There are three or four tracks that I especially like(d) and then some that never clicked. Overplayed the good ones, and there you go. Basically I think it's a great album even if I don't particularly like it. Love the little samples: "I think you are the Devil itself!"
Long Distance Voyager is the last Moodies album I've heard. I like it, but they're not really even musically similar to the pre-Octave discs. "Talking Out of Turn" is nice, but it goes on for like seven minutes, and yeah, the last few tracks are really bad. The Moody Blues' albums all work really well on vinyl, and this one especially.
Pretty much agreed on Face Dances; I don't remember but I think I preferred it to Who Are You.
