I did also rewatch Licorice Pizza (I watched both of these on a plane). I still think it's mostly good, but tbh I skipped over the Bradley Cooper part. Also that final voice over is very unnecessary. Otherwise I enjoyed this story of children in a very toxic relationship. It's really not so different from Phantom Thread in terms of the push and pull of pissing off your loved one, but it's definitely a lesser version.
Other things I've watched:
Cane Toads: An Unnatural History - strange hour long 80s documentary on the history of toads taking over eastern Australia. Kind of a quirkier version of early Errol Morris
Friends and Strangers - Australian (not sure why this is a theme) slacker indie. Decent shaggy dog comedy, I enjoyed the 16mm cinematography.
Girl and the Spider - Wanted to like this more. Feels like a sophomore slump after The Strange Little Cat unfortunately
Swamp Water - I enjoy this immensely for what it is - classic Hollywood swampsploitation - but I cannot get over the fact that *this* is the film Renoir made immediately after The Rules of the Game. Backstory be damned, it's like Nabokov tossing off a quick detective story after releasing Pale Fire
