"the biggest discrepancy in quality between two consecutive albums ever"
Hmm I feel like that would have been a more interesting poll question partly since, like others have pointed out, most classic rock groups from the 60's who stuck around through the 80's and beyond released a bunch of stuff that was dull, out of touch and/or a watered down version of what they'd already done. Anyway I don't really listen to Tull these days but as I've said before, "Minstrel In The Gallery" is their 2nd best after "Aqualung" IMO. And it seems silly to include their generic blues rocky debut in their "great" period. Nominations for "the biggest discrepancy in quality between two consecutive albums ever": The Mothers of Invention: "Only In It For The Money", "Ruben & The Jets" The Beatles: "The White Album", "Yellow Submarine" Genesis: "Lamb Lies Down", "Trick of the Tail" Bunny Wailer: "Blackheart Man", "Protest"
