Music Babble

I've probably been a bit hard on it over the years, but if I were forbidden to ever listen to the whole album again, I'd probably only keep "I Apologize," "Books About UFOs," "Folklore," "If I Told You," "Celebrated Summer"...and yeah, that's about it. I still really hate "59 Times The Pain" and the last four songs, no force on Earth will convince me those were anything other than hastily written junk (though to be fair, this is a band that made their best album in 85 hours.)

Have always had a difficult time appreciating "Have A Cigar" or "Welcome To The Machine," though the latter inspired a very amusingly bleak, ugly bit of Gerald Scarfe animation that you can watch on Youtube. The second half of SOYCD is very unnecessary. So no, I'd never rate WYWH higher than a 7 out of 10. This opinion that I have of it is the same I would have of it hearing it in high school, in 2000.

I don't entirely hate Smiley Smile either, but it's only of historical interest for a couple listens. I wasn't wild about Wild Honey either, and a few oddballs over the years have sworn by that as a lost masterpiece.
