Yeah I guess it's pretty goofy and fantasy-based compared to most sci-fi that isn't Vonnegut but that's arguably part of the appeal (and why I love Bradbury even though most sci-fi leaves me cold). I think of most of the chapters as being akin to episodes of "The Twilight Zone" in terms of both tone and content (not a bad description for Bradbury's short stories in general) so maybe it'd help if you tried to think of them that way?
At any rate, my favorite stories are "The Earth Men", "The Third Expedition", "Usher II" and "The Silent Towns".
